The Following Day - Stars

Updated: Jul 3, 2024

All yours now - how much is the world, how much do you love the world?

I do. What if this is a business case? Such thing, I think any sponsors would jump right in, the consequence itself and the purpose, must be at the highest level. Especially if external entities are involved. Funding should be a no brainer, often no question asks. That's actually normal life. If it is anything less than normal, the company is literally killing itself. If something needs to be remediated, consider the remaining time, how far off track, learn from what we know, the gap itself, and the answer is there. Ask any project managers, and I think you will get the similar answers anyway, provided you tell them exactly what's going on with no ambiguity. During critical moment, any resistances do no good for anybody, wastage is there, means resources not utilised efficiently, sacrificing the opportunity, for each missed out opportunities, cost goes up for chasing. Three likely options, timeline blowout, increase resources, descoping... The extra best isn't going to happen without everyone's support, it would be lucky enough to have zero sabotage, even luckier if trust exists to offer normality, let alone synergies & other benefits, new opportunities that otherwise would gain. When the project is early, some time company purposely starts earlier, just to teeth out the teething issue, so a proper foundation which can provide speed. But if it isn't done right, I have seen it in my old roles at the bank, misguided project manager, didn't understand the requirement, BA didn't ask, or drill further, captured requirements that just can't suitable for the customers and regulators. Do you know why CEO is cherry picked? Because it is meant to be controversial, just like CBA's one. This was once a government owned entity, which later privatised, some say it is good, some say it is bad. The final gate, is still the government though, because the consequence can be significant enough to cripple the world. I am pretty sure the "door" session, was meant to be meaningful, but if people are not supportive, you know some of those meetings, are just wasting everybody's time, plus leaving a sour taste (at best), at worst, a devastating directive, suggestion, incomplete consults could happen... Now you know how much they get paid, and why? Do they just sit? Do they need trust? Do they need support? If they can't even rely on their trusted ones among themselves, it is going to be crazy. The irony is that, if you have to go with the extreme case to monitor them, like micro-managing them, I often wonder what is the underlying reason. Without solving it, the extra steps taken, may all turn into waste, and more cost. If timing is critical, then that may just be enough to kill it all. It is good, if someone is brave enough to say things as it is, truthfully with no bias. It would be a star to consider other side too. A super-star is the one who even raise questions about the area, that may not even covered in the agenda. Some say you don't do this role, go away, but then again, don't we judge on the merit and give credits for it? I remembered my old bank, somehow, removed my name for all the good that I did or contributed, and somehow wrongdoings that I didn't do, dumped into my bucket in an easy to be misguided way. Example? It is scientific - Z bullied long term employee X, X gets stressed, then wanting to quit. Z then assign X to Y. X quits due to the bully. We are scientist, so we look into the data. Pull a report, who has the highest exit rate, ought to be some bad managers right? Yep, report shows, Y has the highest number of employee exited. It is concrete yeah? Stack a couple of this, file up some files, Y who is the super-star, is now something else. Did Z really don't like Y's idea? Guess what, Z rejected Y's proposal, nah this isn't what we need, you should have done better. Then the same, similar proposal added by another team, "helped by Z".... And that's just the tip of the iceberg, I am sure there are a millions other reasons too, but if Y doesn't know, how could he feel? I would like to understand what others think....

I once remember time heals, scar remains. Time heals when more is provided, and take at least twice as long. Hence, anything like this, time is never on anyone's side. If you are an experienced project manager, how would you deal with that?

PS: When I take in negative thing from others, it is a form of help. Judge me if you may. Now you know why those who do this, often have scars, sores, everywhere.... and now you know why sometime, it isn't about how much. A sponge has the ability to absorb, just like empath, a much better word I suppose.

Recently I have been looking into psychologist and wonder how they deal with spiritual stuff. What would they say? I think it would be even more interesting that if the "mini exorcism" (I like to call it negative energy release) on the psychologist, while the psychologist is assessing the "priest (performer)". Remember, there is a form of exorcism is to capture it into the performer's body, this is the safest option, even though more damaging on the performer (any exorcism causes life forces)..... Extra credit from the professor? Just a joke.
