As I go through this song today and coupled with my recent experience. I realised the addendum to what a heterosexual means, which is also proven in history. There are a couple of topics included within and how direct translation to modern world may well be mistranslated, and potentially leads to a what the hell moment.
First and foremost, I do not like child porn and found no interest in it whatsoever. Even for those twinky ones that I like, I think they are mostly in the late twenties mark, or else, the intellectual gap could be too huge for me anyway. But now I can understand why older scripts or references may have younger (adults) as young as 7?! So here is one of the potential reasons, back in the days, this is already the age they are trained to kill, it is during war time, and hence there is an element of adulthood within. For all they know, they may die at 10, so wouldn't you think they would all want to experience what it means to be an adult anyway?! Obviously we don't consider that anymore in this world nowadays, provided we are in a peaceful time, kids go go school, education, and bam, even 18 years of age, still haven't completed their courses when university is considered. To be fair, some will even venture to age 36, to be able to gaspe what an open mind could mean.
But what does it got to do with heterosexual? It is because of knighthood, those were considered as man of man. I'm sure a lot of them would be heterosexual by default anyway, but the additional element is that they also have special bonds to certain companions (same sex), some may even call it one and only. Those wouldn't even consider as gay, because they go to would still be opposite sex, except for a handful of their own chosen ones (depending on circumstances). It is almost like Jesus' apostles, and that's the best way to picture it. Not surprisingly, the motto of noble order of garter seems to be
"Honi soit qui mal y pense
(Anglo-Norman for 'Shame on him who thinks evil of it')"
It has a saint connotation to it, and at the same time, points it out that no evil to it, in fact, those who think evil of it, should really reconsider why they thought it was evil in the first place. Because it is sort of like an oath, an employment, an apprenticeship, only to be brought to the next level, it is mutual, not forced upon, they would even share the most private and vulnerable times together, eg without armor etc. The trust level is not the same and often can't be described by pure words. It literally can boil down to, yes this one only and it is special, I will do things with him/her that I won't do with others, period. By the way, for simplicity, the topic surrounds the male part, but there is also a equal part for female too (lady and lady's companion).
Now as an extra - think about Katy's I kissed a girl... and I'm pretty sure those girls she kisses, meant extra special to her! For those heterosexual boys who find their soulmate, and their love, I can only say congrats & respect!
